Before I give my thoughts, I want to say finally an anime where they decide to go the stealth route instead of OP MC charging head first into battle.

Now back to my reaction to 14:03. That scene definitely made me feel dirty. Killing someone to buy a sex slave. Can't exactly say... UNDERSTANDABLE or commendable? But hey at least we know he is motivated by SEGGs

At least the bandits were unknown and died a quick painless death. It always uncanny when females die. Guys no problem. But that scene made me wince. Kazuma did not mean this when he said "I Yearn for true gender equality!"

Poor girls, For all we know they could have been bandit in title only and MC killed girls who ran away from their abusive masters (as we know if you run away you are automatically branded a bandit) and had no choice but to live in a bandits den.

Good thing there was no backstory to throwaway characters otherwise we would have some traumatized MC and viewers.

I am just going to assume the nameless female bandits were very bad people and killed people as thieves so I can feel better lol.

Weird parallel but coming from an Asian household their deaths were in vain If you think about it, MC snuffed the females and didn't even get to for acquire their hands to turn in the bounty. Makes me think of all the wasted food that gets thrown away. If 3 hands was enough to buy Roxanne then MC basically could have had enough funds for another 2/3 of a sex slave. Considering how he sliced their hands like ham it would have taken 10secs tops?

Agreed, but many people have a problem with killing people, especially when they look less menacing and in particular children.

Its more that people think children are not responsible. But in reality there is no difference for humans any age. The common human still follows the flow the has been thrown into. Thus responsibility talk it basically just to justify ones own actions.
And another thing is, maybe the strongest one, its naturaly to be soft on the kids, as its evolutionary useful. Most kinds of "cuteness" you connect to some kind of childishness. And its difficult to be harsh on cute things.

Runaway slaves literally get branded as bandits here so as much as I'm fine with bandits being hunted down in most stories I consume, that knowledge really... changes things.MC didn't even connect the dots. I'd say he's got terrible morals, but we already know that since he's actually willing to do a slavery, with no plausible deniability like most settings like these give to their MCs. At least it's more honest, I guess.

As for the girls, hey he used the same thought process to kill them. I don't think it's any worse, unless if you say that statistically the women were more likely to have been forced into it? I mean perhaps? But idk, if you're killing bandits then just sparing the women feels a lot more weird honestly. Like... why? They did the same things far as you know. If Kazuma actually killed people, then I'm sure he'd kill them all equally.

Fun thing, when he claimed the bounty of the 3 bandits, including the girl, they said 2 of them had bounty, which means she might of not have any bounty (if I remember right).
